1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Name, email address, and password (stored securely with bcrypt hashing)
  • Username (auto-generated, editable by you)
  • Profile information you choose to provide: bio, website URL, social links (Twitter, GitHub, LinkedIn), avatar, and cover image
  • Timezone (detected from your browser for display purposes)

Google Sign-In

If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google. We store your Google account ID to link your account.

Listing Information

When you create a listing, we collect the details you provide:

  • App name, description, domain URL, tech stack, and screenshots
  • Financial data: asking price, monthly revenue, monthly costs, monetization model
  • User metrics: total users, paying users, monthly visitors
  • Reason for selling, assets included, demo video URL

Enhanced Listing Data

If you purchase an Enhanced Listing ($29.99 USD), we additionally collect:

  • Detailed financial explanation
  • Supporting documents you upload (PDF, images, CSV, spreadsheets)
  • Stripe payment session and payment intent IDs

Inquiry and Communication Data

When you contact a seller or respond to an inquiry, we collect the message content, your name, and email address.

Automatically Collected Data

When you browse the site, we automatically collect:

  • Pages visited, referrer URL, and time spent on pages
  • Browser type, device type, and user agent
  • IP address
  • Approximate location (country, city) derived from your IP address using ip-api.com
  • Outbound link clicks (when you visit a listed app's website)

This data is collected using first-party analytics only. We do not use third-party tracking services like Google Analytics.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Operate the platform and display listings
  • Connect buyers and sellers through inquiries
  • Review and moderate listings (including AI-assisted screening for quality and fraud detection)
  • Process payments for Enhanced Listings via Stripe
  • Send transactional emails: listing approvals, rejections, buyer inquiries, and feature notifications
  • Provide sellers with anonymous analytics about their listing views and engagement
  • Detect and prevent fraud, spam, and abuse
  • Improve the platform based on aggregate usage patterns

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these circumstances:

  • Buyer-seller communication: When a buyer sends an inquiry, their name and email are shared with the seller so they can respond
  • Public profile: Your username, bio, avatar, and listing count are visible on your public profile page
  • Stripe: Payment information is processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details. See Stripe's Privacy Policy
  • AI review: Listing content may be sent to OpenAI for automated quality screening. No personal contact information is included in these requests
  • IP geolocation: Your IP address is sent to ip-api.com to determine approximate location. This data is cached and not sent on every page view
  • Law enforcement: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users

4. Cookies and Session Data

We use essential cookies only:

  • Session cookie: Keeps you logged in and maintains CSRF protection. Expires after 120 minutes of inactivity
  • Remember-me cookie: Optional, set when you choose "Remember me" at login

We do not use third-party tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any non-essential cookies.

5. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information:

  • Passwords are hashed using bcrypt (never stored in plain text)
  • All traffic is encrypted via HTTPS
  • Enhanced listing documents are stored in private storage (not publicly accessible)
  • CSRF protection on all forms
  • Admin access is restricted and authenticated

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

  • Account data is retained as long as your account is active
  • Listing data is retained while the listing is live and for a reasonable period after archival or deletion
  • Page view analytics are retained for platform improvement purposes
  • Payment records (Stripe IDs) are retained for accounting and dispute resolution
  • You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate information via your profile settings
  • Delete your account and request removal of your data
  • Unsubscribe from non-essential emails

8. Newsletter

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we store your email address and the date you subscribed. You can unsubscribe at any time, and we will retain a record of your unsubscription to prevent re-adding you without consent.

9. Children's Privacy

DealMyApp is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice on the site. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
